There is an increasing adoption of renewable energy sources globally. In particular, in India, solar energy plays an increasingly important part of the country’s growth and sustainability. In 2015 the target was raised to 100 GW of solar capacity by 2021. Akal Academy is a group of academic institutions in Punjab India, that helps students mostly from the deprived sections of society gain access to quality education. There are twelve (12) sites in remote areas of Punjab. The sites were electrified through hybrid solar plants integrated with the grid.
