Soup Kitchens
SSISY soup kitchens, also known as Guru Nanak Kitchens, embody the value of “vand chakko,” meaning to share whatever you can with others. Living by this message, SSISY provides warm, home-cooked meals to those in need. Volunteers prepare and serve food for over 100 individuals. Monthly or bi-monthly soup kitchens are hosted in collaboration with organizations, such as the Salvation Army, Cyrus Centre, and Warm Zone. This program continues to be the heart of our organization as volunteers connect with vulnerable or homeless populations through serving food.
