Project Details: a) Rural Education – We are providing value based education in the rural villages through CBSE English medium low cost schools. Currently having 129 schools and 2 private Universities providing education to around 70,000 kids. We provide infrastructure, curriculum, and system in our schools. These schools become sustainable in 3-5 years depending upon their locations and availability of resources. It ensures longevity and growth. b) Health Care - Fully functional charitable hospital with all state-of-the art ultra-modern medical facilities. It provides medical care to the poor patients of the rural area of backward Himalayan Region. In addition to routine services, general medical camps and Ophthalmologic camps are organized 4-5 times a year in which more than 45,000 pateints were treated free and nearly 200 patients get operated free of cost. c) Women Empowerment - In a society where people are indulging in female feticide, The Kalgidhar Trust lays a great emphasis on educating a girl-child. In all its educational institutions, preference is given to the girls. Currently our 100% of the principals and more than 90% of the staff are female. Akal Institute of Rural Women Empowerment empower rural women by providing them training to become elementary school teachers. The training is free of cost, including boarding and lodging, and women who complete their training are appointed as teachers in one of the many rural achools and made independent financially. d) Drug and Rehabilitation -The Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers are helping in eradicating vices amongst the rural folk and bringing down the crime rate, conflicts, litigations etc amongst these sections. The alcohol free movement under the pattern of the 'Alcoholics Anonymous' is proving as a saviour against marital discords and exploitation of the womenfolk. The stupendous 80% success rate is believed to be the result of spiritual atmosphere prevailing here. e) Social Welfare and Community Development – The Kalgidhar Trust works aims at responding to challenges the community confronts and empower the community. Through Orphanage, Senior Citizen Home, Home for Widows and Destitute, Rural Economic Uplift and Disaster Relief.
